WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE TO CNS TO SUBMIT A REQUEST
CNS requires you to provide the project address, the name and address of the party who hired you, a contract amount and a short description of your scope of work. CNS will then confirm the information you provide as well as research for the property owner, general contractor and construction lender.
What are the timeframes required for each request?
Deadlines vary by state. Visit our deadlines page for state-specific preliminary notice and lien-filing timelines, or contact us, and we’ll help you confirm the requirements.
How long does it take to send a preliminary notice or record a mechanics lien?
Most requests are processed within 5 business days. Need it faster? Notices can be sent same-day for an additional fee. Contact our team for details.
Once I’ve been paid, how do I release a lien?
Once payment is received, CNS can quickly prepare and process your lien release.
How do I pay?
For preliminary notices, customers are invoiced monthly, simplifying billing and eliminating per-document payments. Simply add a credit card to your online portal or pay via a secure link once you receive your invoice. For liens, payment is due upon filing via credit card.
Are there any hidden or handling fees?
No hidden fees. You only pay for the services you request — nothing more.
I’m a small business. Is there a minimum number of liens I need to file to work with CNS?
No minimums. Whether you file one notice or many, every request receives the same level of attention and care.
What happens if I need to perfect or foreclose a lien?
CNS is not a law firm, so we cannot enforce a lien in court. However, we work closely with experienced construction attorneys and can refer you to a trusted partner in your area.
